Blowing up a car

I really, really want a scene in one of my movies to have a car blowing up. Using a clip from some other movie of some car blowing up is un acceptable.

So does anyone have an idea on how to get a cheap car? If I get a cheap, broken car from some car junk yard type of thing, it will be hard to get back to somewhere where I can blow it up.

An auto auction could work, but I've never been to one. Can I get a junker that will make it out of the place dirt cheap?

Now where? Where the **** can a blow up a car? I could go and blow one up any old place that wouldnt hurt anyone or destroy any property, but I wouldnt have permission from the cops or the owners of the land. But I don't really like that idea.

All I really know is how to blow the car up.

I could always just blow someone elses car with out letting them know, but that seems very very ilegal.

it sounds to me like you like the idea of blowing up a car more than whether it adds to the story... but anyways,

common sense... if you get a rust bucket that doesnt run from a scrapyard you are gunna need something to carry it back to where you wanna blow it up. Unless you have some mate with that sorta stuff you are gunna have to find one. Maybe you can rent them? Maybe you can hire someone else.

If you dont like the idea of asking the person who owns the land if you can blow up a car then i dont think you will get very far. You need to find a few abandoned places and find out who owns them and go from there. Though my guess would be you probably need a special permit or something to go blowing up cars becos your talking about some pretty serious explosive action there, not just some pyro.
